APR.2019 Wickford High Street – Planning Approval
JAIA Architects are pleased to announce that a full planning permission has been granted for the proposed work at 12-22 Wickford High Street. Situated within the town centre of Wickford, 12-22 High Street comprises of commercial space on the ground floor and office spaces on the first. The site is located in close proximity to Wickford Station and on the highstreet. JAIA Architects have been appointed by the client to propose a multi-flat scheme on the existing site. The proposal is to create a first, second and third floor residential accommodation above the existing commercial ground floor, with a total of 18 flats. The design incorporates two different elevations, changing the roof form, which responds to the contrasting immediate context. The design has been composed to be sympathetic to the surroundings whilst also highlighting the improved character of the site. Red brick facing material compliments the existing brown brick on the existing building whilst the contrast differentiates the new residential from the existing commercial.
