With the help of its members’ extensive experiences over the past 30 years, JAIA has continued to be an innovative architectural practice that transcends boundaries.

Jai Hyuk Lee

Principal Director, AA Dipl. RIBA, ARB

As the founding Principal Director of JAIA, Jai leads the practice with over 30 years of architectural expertise. He has been instrumental in shaping JAIA’s vision and direction, overseeing a diverse portfolio spanning residential, commercial, education, healthcare, leisure, mixed-use developments, master planning, and urban design. Prior to establishing JAIA, Jai gained extensive experience at renowned firms such as KPF, Llewelyn Davies, and PCKO in London.

Hansong Li

Associate Partner, RIBA, ARB

With over 30 years of experience, Hansong has led architectural projects across London, the UK, Europe, and China, integrating international expertise with innovative design strategies. He is widely recognised for his contributions to sustainable design and modular construction, particularly through pioneering prefab housing projects. Hansong contributes to global architecture through teaching, publishing, translation, and leadership, as Teaching Fellow at Shanghai Jiaotong University and WACA council member.

Kwanphil Cho

Senior Architect, AA Dipl. RIBA, ARB

Kwanphil is an experienced architect with a demonstrated history of working on innovative projects in the architecture and planning industry. He honed his exceptional design skills at world-renowned firms, including Zaha Hadid Architects, where he contributed to complex, large-scale developments. A graduate of the prestigious AA School, he brings a strong arts and design focus to his work, specializing in the integration of Sustainable Design, Urban Design, and advanced Parametric Design methodologies.

Yeojoong Yang

Senior Architect, AA Dipl. RIBA, ARB

With over 20 years of experience, Yeojoong has worked on diverse architectural projects in Kuala Lumpur, London, and Seoul, integrating global perspectives into her designs. Her passion for travel has taken her across Asia, the Americas, Europe, and Africa, enriching her architectural approach with cultural depth and a strong commitment to sustainable innovation. She specializes in creating spaces that are both aesthetically compelling and environmentally responsible.

Pil Won Kim

Senior Architect, AA Dipl. ARB

With 15 years of architectural experience, Pil Won has worked on residential and commercial projects from concept to completion. His portfolio includes a Grade II listed residence in Kensington, Google’s King’s Cross HQ, and No. 1 Soho Place above Tottenham Court Road station. Pil Won specializes in heritage and modern office design, demonstrating a keen ability to integrate contemporary interventions within historic contexts.

Harper Bishop

Senior Architect

With over 15 years of experience, Harper has a diverse portfolio spanning tall towers and innovative bridge designs. He led the successful completion of a high-rise office tower in London, recognized as a BCO Commercial Workplace Award winner. Specializing in high-rise buildings and complex urban projects, Harper brings expertise in delivering landmark structures from concept to completion.

Wonil Son

Senior Architect, RIBA, ARB

Wonil is an RIBA Chartered Architect with over 10 years of experience in the UK, specializing in hotel, residential, office, and heritage architecture. He has managed award-winning projects and led successful planning applications, demonstrating expertise in detailed and technical design. He holds a B.Arch from Chung Ang University in Korea and a Master’s degree with distinction from The Bartlett School of Architecture, London.

Carlson Ko

Architectural Assistant, RIBA Part II

Carlson brings international experience from Malaysia and Singapore, contributing to residential, commercial, leisure, and mixed-use developments. With a strong track record at firms like Archicentre and Starry Homestead, he excels in managing complex architectural projects from initial concept to completion.

Seowoo Lee

Architectural Assistant, RIBA Part II

Seowoo Lee is a Part II Architectural Assistant at JAIA, educated at The Bartlett, UCL, where she achieved distinction. With experience across the UK and Korea, including roles at Leonard Design and MAEK Architects, she has contributed to mixed-use, retail, and residential projects. Seowoo specialises in translating design concepts into technically coordinated packages across early RIBA stages.

Baiba Lapina

Interior Designer

Baiba is a dynamic interior designer, educated in Manchester, with a strong background in design and visual merchandising. Since 2019, she has led creative projects that blend client preferences with her distinctive artistic approach.
