OCT.2020 ST MICHAEL AND ALL ANGEL’S CHURCH – PLANNING
St Michael and All Angel’s Church is one of the rarely intact Gothic revival style buildings originally designed by a great Victorian Architect William Burges. JAIA Architects have been patiently developing an extension design of the church, which is located on the south perimeter of Gatwick Airport, while accommodating the various requirements from different Quangos including The church of England, Historic England, Victorian Society and Commonwealth War Graves Commission for the last 3 years. JAIA Architects have finally submitted a full planning application for the newly proposed extension scheme. The Grade II listed church is in need of additional space for gatherings and worship and the scheme has been designed to fit the purpose of modern worship for the local. The design is believed to respond to its immediate urban and historical context, as well as to the environmental and sustainable objectives.
