MAY. 2010 JAIA has been awarded RIBA competition

We are delighted to announce that JAIA(Joint Architectural Intelligence Associates) has been awarded “Commendation” following inclusion in the shortlist for the RIBA competition “Forgotten Spaces”. The competition seeks to identify the development potential of abandoned and neglected spaces in London. JAIA selected its own site “The Kingsway Tram Subway” infront of Holborn Station. The subway has been abandoned since its closure in 1952 and neglected for 60 years without significant use despite its great potential. You can find out more about our proposal “Kingsway Hub” at the “Forgotten Spaces” exhibition in the Lyttelton Exhibition Foyer, National Theatre. The exhibition is open Mon-Sat: 9.30am – 11pm, Sun:12.00pm – 6pm and Mon 31st May: 4pm – 11pm. The exhibition continues at the National Theatre until 4th July 2010, and will then open at Swiss Cottage Library from 10th August 2010.
