Hampton Wick is a residential development to accommodate 9 new built flats by demolishing the existing building situated within the designated in Conservation Area. The original planning consent scheme (6 flats and 9 bedsits) which was originally  designed by another architect has suffered from its poor design including very low ceiling height and inadequate room sizes compared to the current design standards. As a newly introduced architect to the project, JAIA has re-designed the scheme to accommodate 9 flats in the same volume as the approved scheme. JAIA has successfully enhanced the spatial quality with various ideas and utilised the given tight spatial condition to maximise the market value while respecting the sensitive setting of the historic core of Hampton Wick.
