Tensegrity Chair
Tensegrity Chair
Often furniture represents the possibility of uses of architectural materials and structure. The chair examines the possible combination of new material (Latex) onto existing architectural structure (Tensegrity). Steel wires were woven in 1cm²-grid and liquid latex was painted over. The roles of steel grid are; firstly to measure the surface, secondly to test possible forms of latex skin and lastly to be connected onto tensegrity structure. Steel pipe was cut in various lengths and connected with steel wires and tension bolts on order to follow a chosen geometry of latex skin.
