Battersea Houses are exemplary house extension and loft conversion projects which were praised by clients/planners and established as principles of precedents of its kind in the conservation area of Three Sisters, Battersea, Wandsworth Borough. The 3-bed houses, which are situated in a row of semi-detached properties with special character, were previously owned and connected to each other as 1 entity by a church organisation. In order to maximise GDV, the houses have been split and treated individually for planning & construction. JAIA proposed side and rear extensions which provided a higher quality open plan layout with bi-folding doors to a larger rear garden. The proposed 2nd-floor extension and loft conversion have also allowed spacious 4-bed rooms with en-suites without creating detrimental effect to the street scene of the conservation area.
